Delete your GetHired account
You can delete your account in the app, or ask us to delete it by email if you no longer have the app. Here is exactly what happens to your data.
Delete it in the app
- Open the GetHired app and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
- Tap Delete to confirm. You are signed out straight away.
You cannot delete an account in the middle of a paid job. Finish it first; the app tells you which job is open. A worker who leads or belongs to a crew must leave it (or hand it over) first.
Ask us by email
If you no longer have the app, email us from the address you sign in with:
Put Delete my GetHired account in the subject, and include the email address you sign in with and the name on the account. To protect you, we only act on a request sent from that same email address. We delete the account within 7 days and reply to confirm.
What happens, and when
- Straight away: your account is hidden, you are signed out on every device, workers are taken offline, and any booking you had not yet paid for is cancelled. Nobody can find, book or message you.
- For 30 days: signing in again with the same email restores your account exactly as it was, in case you change your mind.
- After 30 days: your personal details are permanently erased. Signing in with the same email after that starts a new, empty account.
- If you work through GetHired and we still owe you a wage, we pay it first and erase your details after that.
What is erased
- Your name, email address and mobile number
- Your profile photo, saved address and location
- Your PIN and your Google sign-in link
- For workers: your work address, bio, ID document and UPI ID
- The messages and photos you sent in chat (the other person sees “Message removed” in their place)
- Your conversation with Support, and any app feedback you sent
- Your notifications, saved workers and alerts
- The address of every job you booked
Erased details also disappear from our database backups as those backups are deleted on their normal, short schedule.
What is kept, and why
- Booking, payment, refund and payout records, without your name. The law requires us to keep them for accounting and tax, for as long as it requires.
- Ratings and reviews, without your name. They are part of the other person’s record.
- Safety reports made by you or about you, so a pattern can still be seen and so we can answer the police if asked.
- If an account was removed for breaking the rules, its email address and mobile number are kept so the same person cannot simply sign up again. Everything else is erased.
Ads shown in the app come from Google AdMob, which does not receive your name or contact details from us. To reset your phone’s advertising ID, use your phone’s settings.
